Primary Program

“Let us give [the child] a vision of the whole universe. The universe is an imposing reality, and an answer to all questions. We shall walk together on this path of life, for all things are part of the universe, and are connected with each other to form one whole unity.”

– Dr. Maria Montessori

Overview:

Our Primary program is designed for children 3 to 6 years of age. Children in our primary classrooms enjoy the process of learning through concrete experiences in a nurturing environment. They learn to care for themselves, living things and the environment around them. Children also learn abstract math operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using hands on materials. They learn to read and write journals during the 3-year cycle in the primary classroom.

They develop a genuine love of learning as it promotes self-confidence, independent thought and action, and critical thinking, while fostering social-emotional and intellectual growth.

The daily schedule also includes collective gathering for creative expressions, movement activities, songs, stories and group lessons. A light nutritious snack is provided daily. When weather permits, the children are taken outdoors to play on outdoor equipment.

Students are required to be 3 years old as of September 1st of the Academic year they are joining, and fully toilet-trained to enter this program.
